RDTEX and Home Credit Bank have increased the Bank's system performance Applications
Specialists of RDTEX company and the IT-department of "Home Credit and Finance Bank" have completed the production migration and postmigrational support of the Bank's ABS (Automated Banking System).
The project's aim is to increase the Bank's business efficiency by developing its IT-infrastructure through migrating Automated Banking System to a newer version of Oracle software and slicing the Bank's database. As the result of the project system response time has gradually decreased, the process of administrating the Bank's historical data has been simplified and thus the efficiency of the information system's work has improved.
In the course of the project the databases of the Bank's head office as well as those of affiliates were migrated to a newer version. RDTEX specialists developed a method of migration which was thoroughly tested on the demonstration stand of the project. One of the main objectives of testing was to estimate the system's downtime during the migration. The specialists found out for how long the Bank's business-departments wouldn't be able to use the full system and coordinated the downtime with the Customer. The members of the project team worked out a method of data slicing in the major tables of the Bank's ABC. This enables the administrators to use a more flexible and efficient backup scheme, considerably decreasing the volume of regularly saved data. The data was divided into archival and actual, which excludes redundant backups of invariable historical information in the database. Placing such data on cheaper, but slower mediums, the Bank managed to reduce the costs related to storing large amounts of accumulated data.
